HIGH RISK TIER
Statutory qualifications have been developed to ensure that all permitted waste facilities have access to qualifications that provide evidence of technical competence for any designated manager having responsibility for ensuring the facility meets its permit requirements for managing the environmental impact of the site. There is a suite of statutory qualifications that have been developed to provide evidence of technical competency based on the activities carried out at your site. Statutory qualifications are set at Level 4 (managerial level) and therefore candidates undertaking such qualifications should have management or supervisory roles and responsibilities. The qualifications are unit based, with a mix of generic units and units specific to the type of operation undertaken at the facility.
High Risk Tier - typically related to hazardous waste activities and consisting of 12 x units of competency
The type of qualification you require will therefore be based on your site activities and the conditions set out in your environmental permit. The specific qualification required for your waste facility will be determined by either the site standard rules permit or the conditions of a bespoke permit relevant to your site. WS Training can assist in identifying the correct qualification to meet your needs.
